My Chronicles
by Jake

November 6, 2007 through December 31, 2008

Hi Everyone.
Thanks for stopping by my new website. I are going to try to keep you up to date (like my cousins, Christopher and Daniel) on significant and interesting happenings in my life - like seeing my crib for the 1st time or going for a ride or seeing the doctor or etc .................
November 6, 2007
Mommy (of course I was with her) and Daddy arrived at Massachusetts General Hospital around 8:30 Saturday morning, expecting my arrival sometime that afternoon. Well Sunday passed, Monday passed and Tuesday almost passed but I finally arrived at 6:16PM weighting in at 8 pounds 10 ounces and measuring 22 inches long.
You are probably wondering why it took so long for me to be born, well here is my version. Of course, Mommy, Daddy and the Doctor have their own explanations for those 92 hours but! - Maybe Daddy (and Mommy) will add their thoughts in his Dad's Report.
Grandma and Grandpa (Pop-E) from Westfield came up on Sunday to be there for my arrival.  Daddy would call them every few hours to let them know what was going on and basically it was the same report each time - NOTHING!
The 2 Grandmas were talking Sunday Evening about the situation and they decided to go shopping at the Christmas Tree store - to relieve the tension and stress of waiting. According to them, SHOPPING cures everything . I wonder if Mommy also thinks that - I will have to remember to ask her.

Well Mommy and I (and Daddy also - but he could have left anytime) finally got permission from the hospital to go home.
I left the hospital a lean 8 lbs. 2 oz. after loosing 8 oz of baby fat.
I can't wait to see our house and my room where Mommy, Daddy and Grandpa have been doing a lot of work to get it ready for my arrival.
I guess some of you may have guess already (from the top of this page) that Mommy picked a "BEE" theme for me. Some of you may also remember that Daddy was an "artist" in high school. Putting Mommy's brains and Daddy's artistic skills to work, they decorated my walls with various "BEE" sayings. What do you think? Pretty Nice!
November 13, 2007

Mommy and Daddy surprised me by taking me for a ride in the car - that was fun - until the surprise turned out to be a visit to my new Pediatrician - Dr. Richard D'Entremont. However, since he was not available I saw Dr. Bernadette Lane who gave me a complete check up. The visit was not bad and she said I was doing great. In fact the Doc said that I had gained back 7 of the 8 oz that I lost but the gain was mucle not baby fat. I now tip the scale at  8 lbs. 9 oz. The Doc also said that babies normal take two weeks to gain the lost weight back - not me - only took 3 days.
Next appointment is schedule for December 13th.
November 19, 2007
Well it's been like South Street Station or Logan Airport during rush hour at our house. People coming and going just to see and hold me. I have more finger prints on me that a leopard has spots. Here are two of Mommy and Daddy's friends that came to see me.
Besides all the adults, one of my future friends and playmates, Megan Sheehy stopped by (with her Mommy) to see me. She was telling me about how she gave the secret of how to crawl to Christopher and Daniel. Can't wait to hear what else she knows.
November 22, 2007
Ah, my 1st Turkey Day. We celebrated it at Grandma and Grandpa's house in Woburn. Grandpa usually puts plastic sheets over the deck and everyone sits outside in the freezing cold and eats dinner. Maybe that's why Mommy and Daddy had the thermostat set so low - getting me ready for Thanksgiving. Well thank my lucky stars that Common Sense overruled Tradition and we eat inside. I did not get any turkey - just the same old formula - but I did get hugs and kisses from Grandma.
December 13, 2007
Mommy took me for another ride and guess where, yep to the pediatrician. My latest stats are weight 10 pounds, 10 ounces (60th percentile), height is 22 1/4 inches (60th percentile) and head was 38 1/4 inches (250th percentile) - do you know that Daddy has the smallest head in his family. The doctor said I looked great and was laughing at my hair.  I got a shot and only cried for a minute. Mommy said that I was so good.
December 31, 2007

Ah, New Years Eve - my 1st Big Party Day - I wondered what Mommy and Daddy has planned for me? Guess What!
They are celebrating my 1st New Years Eve by going to a "EB's" wedding without me.
Hre is a picture of Mommy, Daddy and RICH "Uncle" Jim at the wedding. They really were not having a good time without me !!!!
December 21, 2007
Well I guess you can tell when the Christmas Season is here - when your Mommy and Daddy started trying to get a picture of me for the Christmas Card. I do not know what they were thinking but here are a few of the possibilities they came up with.
December 22, 2007
Well, after the Christmas Card experience, Mommy and Daddy took me for my 1st long trip to Westfield, NJ to see Grandma and Pop-E and to celebrate Christmas. We were going to leave on Saturday morning December 22nd at 5am but guess what, I decided to get some additional sleep before the long ride so I did not wake up until 7am. After eating, changing, etc, we hit the road about 11am. Of course before we really hit the road, we had to stop at "DD's" for Mommy and Daddy's traditional traveling refreshment. I can't wait to get a little older so that I can sip that Hot Chocolate that Pop-E loves.
Well the trip was non eventful as far as I was concerned since Mommy and I slept most of the way. The funny thing about the trip was Daddy kept saying, "OH! - I can't wait for the family Christmas picture", I don't think he really meant it but some day he may let me in on the secret.
We arrived in the afternoon and Grandma and Pop-E could not wait to get their hands on me since they had not seem me since November. Grandma was quicker and muscled Pop-E out of the way to get the 1st touch.
Pretty soon the peace and tranquil surroundings disappeared with the arrival of Uncle Scott, Aunt Becky, Uncle Bri and my 1st Cousins, Christopher and Daniel. Were we all glad to see each other especially Christopher, Daniel and I since this was our 1st in the "flesh" meeting.
We all had a good time opening presents and listening to Christopher and Daniel play music on the box. Uncle Bri must have like their music because he brgan playing music with an empty beer bottle.
And, of course Daddy's wish came true and we took a couple of  family pictures.
1st Picture in Grandma & Pop-E House.
December 23, 2007
After a good nights sleep, we started getting ready to head back to Woburn to celebrate Christmas with my other Grandma and Grandpa.
Grandma got her last few touches and we were off.
December 25, 2007
My 1st Christmas. Here I am with my Daddy after a "long winter's" nap.  My 1st Christmas Day present.  Grandma and Grampy. Mommy and Daddy. Oh what a Christmas Day it was
January 6, 2008

Well I celebrated my 2 month birthday today and as a special treat DADDY weighted me on our scale at home. According to his calculations I now tip the scale at 13 pounds and 2 ounces. Not bad for a kid that started out at 8 pounds 10 ounces.
December 1, 2007
I had a surprise visit from Aunt Becky and Uncle Bri who came to see me without Christopher and Daniel, I guess they just need a few days "off" to re-charge the "old" batteries before their new baby (and cousin) arrives in February.
January 28, 2008

Mommy and I were under the weather on Thursday, but Mommy recovered on Friday (may have been some Mexican food she ate). I still was not feeling up to par so Mommy took me in to see the Pediatrician who gave me a check up. Everything looked OK and as a special treat she weighted me - 14 pounds and 5 ounces. All this weight on formula only. Just wait until those Burgers and Fries appear.  Here I an going for a drive with my "older" girl friend - Megan
January 31, 2008
Here I am getting ready to have a play date with a "younger" girl -  Maya. Do you think my parents are  rushing these "arranged" meetings. You think they are trying to get me married and out of the house - ALREADY!
February 15, 2008
Tonight is the big trip. When Daddy gets home from work we are going to head down to Westfield, NJ to see Grandma and Pop-E - I have not seem them since Christmas time.  Besides seeing Grandma and Pop-E, I am also going to see my cousins, Christopher, Daniel and Luke for the 1st time. Luke was born on January 15th and is only 1 month old. I wonder if he is in my weight class. Of course seeing Christopher and Daniel will be a treat since they are my older more experience cousins who can give me some good advice on various topics - especially "play dates" and girls.
Well, we got off the Garden State Parkway about 12 Midnight and stopped at a light. Grandma and Pop-E were visiting friends in Staten Island and were heading home. All of a sudden I started seeing these flashing lights behind us and started telling dad that the cops were after us. Dad said no problem it was probably some "Jerk" trying to get him to go through the light. The light changed and we were off - and so was the car behind us. We made a left turn, so did the car. We made a right turn, so did the car. We made a left turn, so did the car, we made another left turn, so did the car. We made a left turn into Grandma and Pop-E's driveway and so did the other car. All I could think of was - someone was out to get me. Maybe it was an irate father from one of those arranged play dates.
My fears were put to rest when Daddy said it was not some "Jerk" but Grandma and Pop-E. Talk about timing. Us leaving Woburn and driving 4 hours and then leaving Staten Island and driving 30 minutes and meeting 8 blocks from our destination. Very SCARY!
Of course, once we got inside they were holding me and playing with me and Daddy and Mommy just wanted to go to sleep.
February 16, 2008
Well the day started on a good note. The diaper was changed , the bottle was ready and everything was OK. That's when the discussion turned to my long locks. Mommy, and Daddy decided that I need a bath and then Grandma was going to do a little trimming before heading to Aunt Becky and Uncle Brian's house.  Talk about a "death grip" -  look at the hold Daddy has on me.
February 17, 2008
Well we had a good night's sleep, good breakfast and we are getting ready to head home. However we are going to stop for a little while at Uncle Becky and Uncle Brian so I can play with Christopher and Daniel some more. Here I am with my "terrified" look thinking Grandma had a scissor in her hand and then with my "relieved" look after I realized she was only dressing me. Grandma and Pop-E gave me a new toy and then I was also set to leave.
March 19, 2008

Here I am in my St Patrick's day outfit. I had to make a quick visit to the doctor's office - a little intestinal stomach problem, probably to much HARP - weighted in at 16 pounds, 2 ounces
March 26, 2008

4th month checkup. I am at 16 pounds, 8 ounces and 26 inches long.  I am going to start getting cereal this weekend - hope I like it. I can just see the pounds piling on! Here I am with the Easter Basket that Mommy brought for me - PINK!?!?!?!?!?!?!
April 16, 2008

Remember back on February 16th, when Daddy held me down while Grandma cut my hair for the 1st time, well here I am getting my 1st cut by a Professional and this time Mommy is holding me. Seems that Daddy taught Mommy his famous "death grip" hold.
April 20, 2008
We have been at Grandma and Pop-E's house for the last 2 days as we prepare for my Christening in St. Helen's Church in Westfield. And you know who else is going to be Christening the same day - RIGHT YOU ARE - Cousin Luke - like in "Cool Hand" - I wonder if he likes eggs .
Here I am in the Christening Dress that Daddy wore when he was Christen in 1976 and Christopher wore last year at his Christening
Father Dom performed the ceremony and the next day had to leave St Helen's on a medical disability. Hopefully Luke and I did not do anything to cause it - couldn't be us, we were both good - it was probably Christopher and Daniel.
Aunt Becky and Uncle Brian were my Godparents and Uncle Scott was Godfather for Luke. Aunt Natele (Aunt Becky and Uncle Brian's Maid of Honor) was his Godmother.
After the ceremony we all went back to Grandma and Pop-E's for food, drink, cake and merriment
April 30, 2008

BIG
ANOUNCEMENT
I have a new cousin.
Aunt Whitney and Uncle Chris had a baby. His name is Trey and he was born, 9 pounds, 1 ounces which was bigger than my 8 pounds, 10 ounces. He was 22 1/2 inches tall.
It looks like Mommy and Daddy have already taught Uncle Chris their famous "death grip" hold.
May 11, 2008
AH, Mother's Day. I gave Mommy a card that I signed myself with a pen and the help of Daddy - pretty talented of me - however not only did I get ink all over the card I also got it all over my PJs. I am trying to crawl but have not got the knack yet - maybe I better ask some of my "compatriots" for some pointers.
While Daddy was mowing the grass, Mommy gave me a bath to get rid of the ink and then dressed me in the outfit she brought for me to wear on Mother's Day. Can you guess what it was! - RIGHT, a Red Sox outfit. Daddy came in and could not believe it, but he could do nothing about it since it was Mother's Day. However, you notice that there are no pictures with this post - Daddy hid the camera.

May 4, 2008
Here are am I my official Yankee outfit with my friend Megan who is also in her's.
When I was born Daddy brought me 2 Yankee shirts, but when he found out that my Aunt Whitney and Uncle Chris were going to have Trey, he gave them one of the shirts because Uncle Chris is also a big Yankee fan
Of course Mommy is a Red Sox fan so things should get interesting as time goes by.
Aunt Maureen,
  Daddy's Godmother.
Luke's Grandparents and my Granparents
May 28, 2008
I went for my 6 month checkup and am now 18.1 pounds and 27 ¾ inches tall. I got more shots and screamed my head off when but then I was OK by the time Mommy and I left. The funny thing is that the doctor never said anything about my feet - do they look big to you.
I am in the 1st stage of crawling. I am up in position, rock back and forth and then go backwards!
May 30, 2008
Here is Mommy and I going down the slide for the 1st time - we are having fun..
June 30, 2008
Mommy and Daddy took me to Cape Cod for the weekend. We stayed in Daddy's boss's condo - not bad. Pop-E can't wait for Daddy to buy one.
Had my new "shades" , took a dip - boy is that water cold, took in some "rays" and of course has a refreshing "DD Latte"
July 4, 2008

Here I am decked out in my 4th of July outfit with my friend Maya.

July 10, 2008
Here I am in my "bouncy". Mommy had to get me shoes because I was wearing away the skin on my toes. Check the Red Sox hat, I can only wear it when Daddy is not taking me out.
I also finally got 2 teeth!
July 14, 2008

My 1st bath in our new kitchen sink and a dip in Aunt Whit and Uncle Chris's pool. Daddy did a "Cannon Ball" and I got scared because I could not find him - but them he pop up and I started to laugh
July 30, 2008

Here is Trey (my new cousin, Aunt Whit and Uncle Chris's baby) and I  in our matching outfits. We guess our parents think we look like twins -  Nice try Mommies but here is what twins look like - my cousins, Christopher and Daniel.
August 2, 2008

We went to my Great Grandma's house in Maine and Trey and I went for our 1st dip in a lake with Grampy and Uncle Chris.

August 22 - 24, 2008

Grandma and Pop-E came from Westfield, NJ to visit us. I had not seen them since my christening in April. Here are I am, eating, bouncing and also going for a stroll. I also watched a little TV - my favorite is Mickey Mouse.
May 19, 2008
Feels like I am starting to get some teeth. Here I am trying to smooth my aching gums  - I hear Brandy is good for them. Maybe Mommy and Daddy also heard that!!
August 9, 2008

Mommy, Daddy and a group of  friends and relatives (and of course kids) went for a week in Maine. I guess it was close to where Great Grandma lives since we ate breakfast in the Cove Cafe - her favorite breakfast place.
September 19, 2008
Mommy and Daddy have been teaching me things
Brush my teeth
Eat fruit but pick your own
Try on wigs before letting your hair grow long
Don't eat chili with your hands
Learn to read before wearing shirts with words on them - Trey and I thought we had Alabama shirts on
Only wear red sox shirts when Daddy is not home
September 28, 2008

Well we headed to Westfield last night to see Grandma and Pop-E since Grandma is having a surprise party for Pop-E. As usually we did not leaving until late and by the time we got their I was ready to start playing new Grandma and Pop-E

After a good night sleep - I did not hear Daddy snoring since he slept in the bedroom all the way upstairs - I came down to get something to eat and take the 1st picture with Pop-E.

When everyone else got their Pop-E, took a picture with each of his grandsons. Here is mine. Later he read Christopher and I a book.

After we ate, they brought out the cake and Daddy just got my diaper changed so that I just made it into the picture.
November 1,  2008
Well 5 days to go until my 1st birthday, but Mommy and Daddy are celebrating it today with a big party with all my friends and relatives. Even Grandma and Pop-E came up from Westfield.
The party was a costume one since it was so close to Halloween. I, of course, was Count Dracula - where does Mommy and Daddy come up with these ideas. But the best was the cake - since my favorite character is Mickey Mouse, Mommy had a cake made with Mickey Mouse on it dressed as Dracula - they must be trying to get on my good side after all the hats and out fits they have dressed me in over the year.
November 6,  2008

Well this my official 1st birthday. Of well, another day, another cake. Notice had they are holding my hand down until they finish singing Happy Birthday

I now tip the scale at 22 pounds, 2 ounces and am 30 1/2 inches tall
November 19, 2008

My official Christmas pictures. My cousin Trey and I went at the same time - I think we do everything together.
November 27, 2008
For years, Grampy had a Thanksgiving dinner out side on the deck. He use to enclosed the deck in plastic and then everyone would freeze their "buns" off.
Well, another tradition down the tubes - now we just eat in the house. Maybe he will bring the tradition back when Trey and I get older and can help him put the plastic up.
Here I am getting ready for the big affair. Still getting my baths in the kitchen sink - someday I maybe able to use the tub. Do you remember my 1st bath in the new sink back on July 14
And of course Daddy and I are like everyone else after a big turkey dinner - NAP TIME.
December 22, 2008
Getting in some last minute ideas for my Santa List.
December 24, 2008
Christmas Eve - the night started off well, with Trey and I dressed in our red PJs and getting our picture taken with Aunt Heather. We are getting ready for the guy in the red suit an his trusty reindeer5.
December 25, 2008

Christmas Day and I woke up to see if Santa had been to my house and left me any presents. When Mommy and Daddy brought me down all of my toys were gone and replaced by presents. I got Mickey Mouse phone ears, a Mickey Mouse pillow, a farm  and other great things.

Hopefully, I will get my old toys back since some of them I really like.
December 30, 2008
We came down to Grandma and Pop-E's last night to celebrated Christmas and Christopher and Daniel's 2nd birthday.
Uncle Brian came over with Luke (Christopher and Daniel were napping) and we were playing together.
Also Aunt Maureen, Uncle Charlie, Michele, Susanne and Eamon can over for lunch to see me and Mommy and Daddy.
We then all went over to Aunt Becky and Uncle Brian's house for the party.
But 1st we played a lot, especially in the basement where they have tons of toys. Daddy is going to fix up our basement so that I can have more space and toys.
December 31, 2008
Another bath in another sink to get ready for Aunt Becky, Uncle Brian, Uncle Scott and the boys to come over to Grandma and Pop-E's house to celebrate Christmas together and open more presents for the last time in 2008. When everyone arrived, I played Santa and Christopher and Luke could not figure out how Santa lost some much weight. In case you can't read my shirt it says " If you think I'm COOL you should see MY DADDY!
After everyone left, I had a nap, some food and them Mommy and Daddy were putting on their coats - I thought "WHERE ARE WE GOING NOW" - the answer - back to Aunt Becky and Uncle Brian's for a New Eve's Party.
Anyway as I said, at 6:16PM I arrived and Mommy and Daddy were very happy to final see the REAL ME and not just an Ultra Sound Picture.
and finally the decision on the way to go and here is the result - not bad if I do say
Here I am going on a chaperoned date with Megan - nice set of wheels - and taking a quick dip - of course also chaperoned.
I finally ran out of  energy and Grammy and Grampy took me home to nap, while Mommy and Daddy pack up all my presents. Here I am with Daddy after a long needed nap.
Here is the group photo
Luke and I got along so well I decided to share some of my snacks with him. You think I had a choice!
Anyway, as the 4 grandparents were heading to the store, Woburn Grandpa said, "why don't we first visit Jess and Greg (they also meant me but still did not know if I was Jake or Reese) in the hospital"  Everyone said that it sounded like a good idea and they arrived at the hospital a short time later.
Since only 2 visitors at a time were allowed in the room, my Westfield grandparents came into first. After hugs and kisses, they wanted to know if I was going to be born by Monday afternoon since Grandma had to go to work on Tuesday. Mommy and Daddy said that the Doctor did not know but hoped it would be Monday morning.
I thought to myself that sounded good to me, since I was ready to see Mommy and Daddy - "eye to eye"
I heard (you should already know that babies hear everything since Christopher and Daniel wrote about it in their Chronicles) Pop-E and Daddy talking and Pop-E was saying something about 51 degrees. I started listening real hard and then realized that Pop-E had said that the thermostat in our house was set at 51 degrees. Daddy said that Mommy was always hot and that he had to sleep in a fleece because she would not let him turn the heat on.
Pop-E said that he was going to set it on 68 degrees for when I came home. After hearing that conversation,  I kept thinking about 51 degrees - I did not really know how cold, COLD was, but the way Pop-E said it, it did not sound good. Anyway I decided to give it more thought.
After my Woburn grandparents left, I could heard Mommy and Daddy talking about whether I was ever going to arrive and that they were getting more tired and anxious each hour. I started to really feel bad and decided the "heck" with the cold - seeing Mommy and Daddy was more important. However, I also am smart enough to realize that it would take time for the house to get to 68 degrees so I decided that my "coming out celebration" would be Tuesday.
Anyway, I survive and we all headed over to Fanwood for the big meeting.  However, we 1st made a stop at a Daddy's friend Mike's house (or as Pop-E calls him MICKEY D). Mike is one of Daddy's friends from High School, whose wife Sydney also had a new baby. And guess what his name is - That's right JAKE. Daddy and Mike are still debating who thought of the name 1st.

We finally arrived at the Aunt Becky and Uncle Brian's house and saw their new family room and HD FLAT SCREEN TV that is attached to the wall. Funny thing is it appears that Uncle Brian only gets one station and all it has is basketball.
The 3 "Amigos" have some nice toys and I probably will be able to play with them at our next visit.  Christopher and Daniel gave me a lot of good info (Luke was just listening and did not have much to say). They kept telling me that they had other stations on the TV, but their Daddy was a basketball junkie and only put BB games on when he was home. They told me that their favorite character was some animal in purple that was called BARNEY - They said he was real "COOL". I can't wait to start bugging Mommy and Daddy about this Barney! Here is the 4 of us with Grandma and Pop-E.
Sunday morning came and Grandma and Pop-E were getting ready to leave (after one final picture)
Here I am with Mommy and Daddy in my Yankee shirt and Red Sox hat waving good bye. Just wait until I break the news to them that I am a "die-hard" "Brooklyn" Dodger fan.
Here is the Group - Trey, Maya, "Tis Me", and Megan. And finally, here is Dad teaching me to mow the grass - I guess there is no such think as a "free" vacation.
On Saturday morning, we went to eat breakfast in the famous dinner in Woburn. I had some pancakes and then we went for a walk round the 2 mile lake in Woburn. We saw a lot of ducks and geese but best of all I showed then how I was learning to drive Mommy and Daddy's car..
The next thing we know we are the Jolly Fellow and his Reindeer. Not only that they had me sit in a miniature sleigh and made Trey look like he was pulling it. Now what family dresses a 2 year old up as a jolly fat guy and a 1 year old as a reindeer. You guessed it  -  the Mommies and Daddies in Woburn. We think it is a Woburn tradition.
All of a sudden their was a commotion at the door and in walked a "REAL" Jolly Old Man in a white (well maybe off white) beard and red suit and no boots - STRANGE - thank goodness he left the reindeers outside.
Trey and I got to sit on his lap and something about him looked familiar - Trey and I decided to watch some Mickey Mouse on the TV while we tried to figure it out. -
That's all for 2008, hope you all enjoyed the trip.
